I am a proud second-generation Việt kiều, born and raised in Portland, Oregon. Although my parents had their own struggles as war refugees, that did not stop them from nurturing my love for education and the environment, which are my top policy priorities to this day. 

Outside of work, I tend to take the more spontaneous route of life. I sometimes go hiking at the Oregon Coast, give in to midnight food runs, or even cook a Vietnamese recipe (without accidentally setting the stove on fire). As family and friends would say, I love the chaos of life, but I take time to enjoy the quiet too.
